Worrying about your child's or teen's mental health? You are not alone, but finding the right professional support is often difficult. Years of experience working with them individually and within schools means I can fully understand the challenges and also help find an effective solution.

Children, like adults, encounter life as an often complex experience where they need help to develop coping strategies and resilience. Using hypnotherapy can allow access to their worries and feelings and teach them how to create more effective coping mechanisms and gain the confidence to deal with daily challenges. 

​

Hypnotherapy can be very effective with children and teens as they are receptive and open to ideas. They already spend much of their day in reverie and daydreaming, which means they are very able to learn how to access a relaxed state. It is an effective way to treat many childhood problems such as:

  • Anxiety.

  • Low Mood.

  • Self Harm

  • School Performance. School Anxiety/ Avoidance

  • Exam Stress.

  • Unwanted Habits.

  • Obsessive or Compulsive Behaviours.

  • Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (e.g.trichotillomania (hair pulling), nail biting, skin picking, nose picking)

If opting for in-person sessions, the clinic is held in a rural location in a Leicestershire village. It may be that for some children a parent remaining in an adjacent room, with the door open would be helpful and reassuring, Usually however with older children, this would be unnecessary. The duration of treatment sessions required will very much depend upon the individual child and initial assessment.
